OUR MISSION

Redemption Tabernacle Pentecostal Church is called to proclaim the Gospel of Christ in obedience to the Great Commission to maintain the worship of God, and to inspire all persons to experience the grace and forgiveness of God, a love for Christ, a passion for righteousness, and a consciousness of their duties to God and their fellow human beings. We pledge our lives to Christ and covenant with each other to demonstrate His Spirit through worship, witnessing, and ministry to the needs of the people of this church and the community through obedience to bring good news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, to set free the captives, to preach peace, as Jesus did.

Understanding Redemption Tabernacle Pentecostal Church’s history allows us to reaffirm the essence behind our mission—to bring people of all creeds, races, and ethnic backgrounds together for the glory and honor of God by making disciples through worship, community, and service. This is seen in their congregation. RTPC consists of members from the United States, Ghana and various islands throughout the West Indies, but it all began with a calling. In the 1980s, the Pipers initiated the calling that was set out in their lives, developing themselves and, in turn, developing disciples for God. Out of the faithfulness of these individuals responding to God’s call, Redemption Tabernacle Pentecostal Church was born.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE the Holy Scripture, the  39 Books of Old Testament and 27 Books of the New Testament are the divine inspired Word of God, written by divinely inspired men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).  Those men wrote not in words of man’s wisdom but in words taught by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:13).

WE BELIEVE that God is a trinity in unity, manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

WE BELIEVE In the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, the eternal all-sufficiency of His atoning Death, His bodily resurrection and ascension to the Father’s Right hand and His personal return in Power and Glory (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 1:120, 24-29; Hebrews 4-15)

WE BELIEVE Salvation is based wholly on the grace of God apart from works through personal faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24, 26, Galatians 3:24)

WE BELIEVE water baptism by immersion for believers only in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church  (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38)

WE BELIEVE in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4, 4:31).

WE BELIEVE That divine healing is provided for in the atonement and is available to all who truly believe (Isaiah 53:4; James 4:14-15)

WE BELIEVE heaven is the eternal inheritance of the believers, Matthew 19:29; Revelation 21:7 and hell and the Lake of Fire as the place of eternal doom for the devil, his angels and unbelievers Revelation 20:4.

WE BELIEVE in the five-fold Ministries and the supporting Ministries to be operational in the church (Ephesians 4:11-13)

WE BELIEVE In the Pre-millennial second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ; First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to meet him in the air (the Rapture)  1 Thessalonians 4:17; John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 and, Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years Revelation 20:1-6

WE BELIEVE that marriage is between ONE man and ONE woman.  Genesis 2:4 and Matthew 19:15.
